"In Drone Driver, the loneliness of the city hums in neon grayscale. A woman stands in a narrow corridor, her reflection fractured across chrome surfaces and fluorescent decay. Instead of speaking into a phone, she confides in her drone — a mechanical confessor hovering in the half-light. The conversation is not human; it is algorithmic, electric, and painfully intimate.

Simpson’s Drone Driver reimagines the isolation of New York through a post-human lens, where surveillance has become companionship and technology has replaced connection. The work is both homage and provocation — a dialogue between the analog alienation of Taxi Driver and the synthetic solitude of the AI age.

Every frame is rendered through Simpson’s proprietary AI model, trained on cinematic memory, urban paranoia, and her signature Ink Interventions. The result is haunting: a portrait of emotional circuitry and feminine disquiet in an age where love, loneliness, and data have fused into the same code.

With The Drones of Suburbia (NYC), Simpson constructs an uneasy world — one in which the female archetype finds more solace in the machine than in the human relationships she is expected to relate to. Drone Driver presses this truth to the surface: the suffocating loneliness that Scorsese captured in his iconic scene has now been re-encoded into a new kind of intimacy.
